Why are things generally so much more beautiful and tasteful in France than in the US?

The architecture and infrastructrue, the landscape, the clothing, the jewelry, the presentation of food, etc., etc. The US has so much more ugly junk and tacky styles and aesthetics in the US are generally an afterthought in most cases. Why does France seem to have such an emphasis on style and beauty of everything? It makes the quality of life so much better, in my opinion.
No, I’m from Seattle which I consider to be one of the more beautiful cities in the US… and IMO, there is absolutely no comparison to cities like Paris, and places like the Cote d’Azur, the French Alps, etc.

The grass is always greener on the other side. Either that or you live in a distressed part of Seattle hehe. I’m not naming the neighborhoods, you know em. You can find great architecture, landscaping, fine clothing, food in both countries. And you can also find ugly clothes that we are “supposed” to like, littering and bad food in both countries. Examples of great American things: Mount Vernon, Thomas Jefferson’s home, the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright, Golden Gate Park, Central Park, Ralph Lauren clothes, the fashion on Gossip Girl, Maine lobster, Filet Mignon with baked potato. Great French things: Versailles, Arc de Triomphe, the streets of Nice lined with real orange trees, haute couture of YSL, Karl Lagerfeld, etc.; good French food (all kinds of delicious mayonnaises, ragout de lapin avec pruneaux, Camembert cheese, etc.).
